The University of Idaho / Earth and Spatial Sciences Department
PhD Student

I am a PhD student in Geography within the Department of Earth and Spatial Sciences at the University of Idaho. As a member of the UI Tree Ring Lab, advised by Dr. Grant Harley, I specialize in quantitative wood anatomy. My research investigates past climates, fire-induced tree mortality, and the physiological drivers of tree growth, aiming to better understand how forest ecosystems respond to environmental stress.
My academic journey began at the University of Alabama, where I earned both my B.S. and M.S. in Biology in 2024. During my time at UA, I developed my foundation in dendrochronology and ecohydrology under the mentorship of Dr. Matthew Therrell in the UA Dendrochronology Lab and Dr. Nate Jones in the Jones Ecohydrology Lab. Beyond the lab, I am committed to academic service and community engagement. I currently serve as the Chair of Initiatives for the University of Idaho Graduate and Professional Student Association. I also enjoy connecting science with the public through volunteer efforts, including events like Vandal Science Day. |
